BST India launches Novo series for enhanced tension control

BST India, an Indo-German collaboration, has introduced two products to enhance its Tension Control product line. These newly launched products are part of a new series ‘Novo’, featuring pneumatic brakes and load cells. The complete ‘Novo’ series, including the Tension Controller – Novosmart; Amplifier – Novoboost; Pneumatic Brakes – Novotorque; and Loadcells – Novosense, will be launched shortly.

Priti Vishwakarma, marketing manager, BST India, said, “Novosense is a strain gauge-based load cell known for its excellent handling and linearity performance. It features robust surface protection through nickel plating.” It is designed to measure web tension on most types of web processing machinery used in converting, plastic film, printing, textile, and other industries. The Loadcell has some innovative features like self-aligning bearings and a nickel-plated surface ensuring maximum protection. It also comes with a noise-immune output and offers up to tenfold overloading making it versatile for tension measurement for almost all kinds of web material.

“The Novotorque pneumatic brake is designed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency. As brakes are considered a commodity in our segment, we had to think outside the box and rely on our years of experience and feedback from our maintenance engineers worldwide to innovate and differentiate Novotorque from all its competitors. This leading-edge pneumatic brake is truly designed for the new generation. Novotorque has a specialized disc and fan ventilation system that allows the pneumatic brake to operate at higher temperatures. Its temperature measurement sensor increases the fan speed proportional to the internal temperature which helps in preventing overheating of brake components that can compromise tension consistency. It has almost zero maintenance requirements for spare parts. Novotorque uses high-quality components reducing pad wear and minimizing dust emissions. This ensures long working life and minimizes downtime.” said Vishwakarma.
