Borealis has introduced Borcycle M CWT120CL, a new high-performance recycled linear low-density polyethylene (rLLDPE) grade designed for non-food flexible packaging. Developed in collaboration with Ecoplast, a member of the Borealis Group, this grade targets applications requiring enhanced stretchability, low gel content, and a balanced toughness-stiffness ratio.
Borcycle M CWT120CL incorporates 85% post-consumer recyclate (PCR) and 15% LLDPE booster, making it suitable for high-end applications prioritizing sustainability and circularity. This rLLDPE grade is the latest addition based on Borealis’ Borcycle M mechanical recycling technology, known for its energy-efficient production of high-quality materials.
Tailored for blown film applications in primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging, Borcycle M CWT120CL is ideal for stretch film, stretch hood, and films used in agricultural, industrial, and protective sectors. By reducing the carbon footprint of final products, it supports Borealis’ customers in achieving their sustainability goals.
The development of Borcycle M CWT120CL began in late 2022 through a collaboration with Ecoplast, culminating in its launch in January 2025. The grade is a testament to over two years of efforts aimed at integrating a significant portion of recycled content while meeting rigorous performance standards for flexible packaging.
