Avantika Printers is expanding beyond commercial printing into the label segment with an investment in Epson’s SurePress L-6534VW digital label press. The partnership was formalized at LOUPE India 2026, with the press scheduled for installation at the company’s Greater Noida facility.

The move signals a strategic shift for the company, opening up a new business avenue while building on its existing printing capabilities. Himanshu Pandey, who is spearheading the diversification, sees labels as an opportunity to take Avantika into a new area of print production.

Calling the initiative ‘Avantika 2.0’, Himanshu said the company intends to bring the same commitment and customer focus to its partnership with Epson that have shaped its journey in commercial printing.

For MN Pandey, founder of Avantika Printers, the investment reflects a new direction driven by the next generation of leadership. He said entering the packaging market was not part of the company’s original business plans, but Himanshu identified the potential in labels and proposed the expansion.

“Avantika 2.0 is Himanshu’s vision. He recognized the opportunity and proposed entering this market. We have backed his decision, and he will lead the business forward in partnership with Epson,” MN Pandey said.

The investment gives Avantika an opportunity to apply its printing experience to a segment where digital technology is creating scope for differentiated label applications and specialty finishes.

Ashish Joshi of Epson India welcomed the company into the SurePress customer base, highlighting the potential of the collaboration to develop new print applications. “We are pleased to welcome Avantika Printers to the SurePress L-6534VW customer community. We look forward to working closely with the team to advance print capabilities, particularly in specialty printing. While the label market is highly competitive, we believe Avantika’s experience and capabilities will help bring a fresh perspective to this segment,” Joshi said.

The SurePress L-6534VW is an LED UV inkjet digital label press powered by Epson’s PrecisionCore linehead technology. It offers production speeds of up to 50 metres per minute, along with white ink and digital varnish capabilities. Its finishing options include gloss, matte and spot effects, providing converters with scope to produce labels with varied visual and tactile characteristics.

For Avantika, the investment is more than an addition to its production equipment. It marks an entry into a new market and the beginning of a business expansion under Himanshu’s leadership. The company will now look to extend the reputation it has built in commercial printing to the label segment, with Epson as its technology partner.
