The All India Federation of Printers and Packagers (AIFPP) recently held a meeting at the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC) to explore a transformative cooperation agreement. This strategic partnership aims to enhance international collaboration in printing, packaging, and publishing education, strengthening academic and industrial ties between India and China.
The discussions were led by Kamal Mohan Chopra, representing AIFPP, along with key officials from BIGC, including Liu Jiemin, deputy secretary of the Party Committee; Zhang Zhicheng, director of the Foreign Affairs Office; Qi Yuansheng, dean of the School of Printing & Packaging Engineering; and Wang Ying, vice director of the Foreign Affairs Office.
The collaboration will focus on expanding student and faculty exchanges between India and China, facilitating cross-cultural learning and cooperation. AIFPP will send Indian printing industry professionals and educators to BIGC for specialized short-term training programs to enhance skills and knowledge transfer. Discussions also included plans to establish a joint R&D center in India, in collaboration with BIGC, to drive innovation and technological advancements in the printing and packaging sectors.
Additionally, BIGC announced its initiative to launch a global network for publishing education by June 2025, inviting Indian universities, enterprises, and associations to participate. Both institutions will also work together to organize international academic events, including competitions such as the Print Olympiad, encouraging engagement from students and teachers in both countries.
Liu Jiemin said, “The establishment of the publishing education international alliance will create a platform for global cooperation, and we warmly invite Indian institutions to join us in this endeavor. Together, we can shape the future of printing and packaging education.”
