Epson, a manufacturer of SCARA robots, introduced its next-generation industrial robotics portfolio at Automation Expo Mumbai 2026. The company launched the new CX-A Series high-end 6-axis robots, LS-C Series SCARA robots and the RC+ 8.0 robot programming software, alongside its SafeSense safety technology, aimed at helping manufacturers improve automation across pick-and-place, precision assembly, parts transfer and material handling applications.
Designed to address a wide range of manufacturing applications, Epson’s latest robotics solutions combine speed, precision and flexibility. Building on its existing industrial robotics portfolio, which includes the 6-axis C-Series (4 kg to 12 kg payloads) and SCARA T-Series and LS-Series robots (3 kg to 20 kg payloads), Epson is expanding its automation offerings with the new-generation CX-A Series and LS-C Series. The company said the broader portfolio would enable manufacturers across industries to achieve greater productivity, flexibility and operational efficiency.
The CX-A Series delivers 6-axis performance for complex tasks, while the LS-C Series offers faster cycle times and productivity in a compact SCARA platform. The RC+ 8.0 software provides an integrated environment for robot programming, simulation and system management, intended to simplify and speed up automation deployment. Epson is also showcasing its SafeSense technology, which is designed to enable safer robot-human collaboration in industrial environments.
Epson said it has more than 40 years of experience in industrial robotics and has delivered over 200,000 robotic arms worldwide, and that it continues to help businesses improve productivity, efficiency and operational performance.
The CX-A Series 6-axis robots offer a payload capacity of up to 7 kg and a reach of up to 900 mm, with IP67, cleanroom and ESD variants available; the series is intended for precision assembly, material handling and machine tending applications. The LS-C Series SCARA robots offer a payload capacity of up to 50 kg and a reach of up to 1000 mm, with cycle times as fast as 0.298 seconds, and are intended for pick-and-place, parts transfer and assembly applications.
RC+ 8.0 is an integrated environment for robot programming, simulation and system management that supports integration with Visual Studio and C++ development environments. The software includes efficiency-oriented features for programming, simulation, diagnostics, OPC UA, GUI building and safety functions, along with co-creation features including a library builder and RC+ extension tools.
SafeSense technology is designed to enable safer robot-human collaboration and support reduced safety fencing requirements where applicable, with the aim of enhancing operational flexibility and productivity. Its safety features include Safety Limited Speed (SLS) and Safety Limited Position (SLP).
Siva Kumar, senior general manager, sales and marketing, Epson India, said, “India is rapidly emerging as a global manufacturing hub, and automation will play a pivotal role in shaping its future. With our new industrial robot lineup and RC+ 8.0 platform, Epson is delivering the speed, precision and intelligence manufacturers need to compete in an increasingly dynamic marketplace. We remain committed to enabling businesses to accelerate automation adoption and build smarter, more agile and globally competitive manufacturing operations.”
